Hikidashi is a special project for the first Japanese edition of French fashion magazine Numero.
It’s a 30 x 40 x 7 cm white box, whose interior is to be freely designed by each user. Rather than simply fill the “empty” box with something, we thought we’d make it even “emptier”. We added a handle to one side to make the box resemble a drawer, creating a design in which a variety of spaces can appear out of nothing, one after the other. Hikidashi’s appearance of being pulled out (or being pushed in?) could be a metaphor for the way our mind thinks.
