Japan's long-standing love for cherry blossoms is well-known, and cherry blossoms still occupy an important role in Japanese culture. In fact, it's said that the sakura, whose expression changes depending on the light and on how much they've blossomed, are the source of Japanese aesthetic sensibility.
Like the blossoms themselves, the slightly cloudy, light pink colour of sakura has been used for centuries in paintings and clothing, and continues to represent Japan itself.
At nendo, we'd like to continue to change over time, and to give people small surprises in their daily life, just like the cherry blossoms, so we suggested cherry blossom pink, or "Sakura", as a new colour for the Seven Chair.
